Kim Jong Un Reigning with Uncle Jang

Kim Jong Un, the new leader of North Korea, had the support of the military. However, he must share power with his uncle and the military. Similarly, the Reuters news agency quoted sources close to Pyongyang and Beijing, Wednesday (12/21/2011).

The source added that the military, which is trying to develop nuclear weapons, have declared allegiance to Kim Jong Un post-death of his father, Kim Jong Il, last weekend.

According to sources, the Chinese government only learned the death of Kim Jong Il on Monday (12/19/2011), along with the Pyongyang government's official announcement. As reported, North Korean leader Kim Jong Il died of a heart attack on Saturday (12.17.2011), and the government officially announced two days later.

The situation in North Korea, as stated sources, it appears stable after the military gave its support to Kim Jong Un. However, he dismissed the possibility of a military coup. "It's impossible. The military had sworn allegiance to Kim Jong Un," he said.

Without a strong person in the military, North Korea will be led collectively by Kim Jong Un, Jang Song-thaek uncle, and the military. Jang is the husband's brother Kim Jong Il. In 2009, he entered the National Defense Commission, a leadership council great leader Kim Jong Il, as a military commander.

According to Reuters, the source who declined to named person was never predict some events in North Korea which later proved correct. One of them is he predicting North Korea will conduct nuclear test in 2006, before it happened.

The source added, a test missile that carried the country on Monday (12/19/2011) is a warning against the United States to not take any action.

"With the missile tests, Korea (North) wants to send a message that they have the ability to protect themselves," said the source. However, he added, is unlikely North Korea conducted a nuclear test in the near future, unless provoked by the United States and South Korea.

North Korea's nuclear program is a source of international tension. Pyongyang has never conducted a nuclear test in 2006 and 2009. The country then out of the six-party talks in which there were South Korea, the United States, China, Japan, and Russia. The five countries were asked Pyongyang to stop its nuclear program and return to the Non-proliferation Treaty.

Meanwhile, China's closest ally and largest contributor of aid to North Korea, welcomed the leadership of Kim Jong Un, and invited him to visit China after the mourning period of age.

Chinese President Hu Jintao and Vice President Xi Jinping is also visiting the North Korean embassy in Beijing to utter the phrase condolences for the death of Kim Jong Il, Tuesday (12/20/2011).

However, China is concerned about the possibility of turmoil in China's northeastern border. North Korea is under pressure from China to dismantle its nuclear weapons. The country is willing to do so on the condition.
